Early in my faith walk with Jesus he showed me that he wanted me to share my life stories and experiences with women because he wants us to know we are never alone. Why Maven of Grace?
Welcome to Maven of Grace. I’m glad you’re here. Maven is a Yiddish word which means one who understands. As a fellow writer I understand how it feels to stare at a blank screen or journal page and will the words to come! I understand the anticipation of your first read through anxiously waiting the first round of edits and hoping there aren’t many. I understand how scary opening yourself to critiquing, and alpha/beta readers can be. I understand that your project is a part of you and the hope and dream of being published. Mostly, I understand that writing can be a solitary and sometimes lonely journey.
As your editor I want to be one of your greatest cheerleaders!
Grace is a Greek word and means both kindness and to rejoice. As your editor I want to be one of your greatest cheerleaders! I want YOU to shine through in your writing. My responsibility to you is to encourage you, read your project from an editor’s perspective and help you convey your story succinctly without changing your voice in the process.
Maven and grace remind me that we are not alone. That there is still kindness, understanding and rejoicing in this world and together we can experience these in our endeavors to reach others with our words with a splash of hope and joy!
