Huh, what do you make of this verse? I was going to use-

This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24
-but my search gave me both verses. This causes me to wonder what others think about Proverbs 16:4? God is the Creator of the heavens and earth and everything in them. Even the wicked. Let’s be honest, everyone is wicked until they believe in Jesus. Why? Because of sin. There is no saving oneself. The saving only comes from belief in Jesus as Lord and Savior and the atoning work He did on the Cross.
Even then, many believers still find it hard to put aside the old self and fully embrace the new life in Christ. This is why discipleship and committing to practice spiritual disciplines regularly is so vitally important to any believer. The Fruit of the Spirit-love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control-ought to be noticable, at some level, in the life of the believer. And, not only noticeable, but evidence of growth. Which brings us to this verse.

The only way to be fruitful and show evidence of fruit in the believers life is to remain committed to nurturing a deep and intimate relationship with Jesus. Look, accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior is one and done. Jesus is the believers justification and Holy Spirit is the believers sanctification, if one chooses to allow Him to do so. However, choosing to practice staying tethered to Jesus is an opportunity every believer is given everyday. As we commit to train with Holy Spirit, he does the transforming work in our heart and mind. A relationship with Jesus isn’t and out-of-sight, out-of-mind experience. Like any relationship, we bear a responsibility to do our part. Jesus is always available to the believer. What will you do?
If you already believe in Jesus I encourage you to ask him how to deepen your relationship with him.
If you’re yet to choose Jesus won’t you ask Him today to give you faith to believe and accept him? What do you have to lose…except eternity.
Shalom.
