The Esther Mantle by Christy Johnston

With intrigue and curiosity, Christy quickly captures the reader’s attention. She lays out the book of Esther in a back and forth narrative that does a deep dive into timepiece culture, meaning of names, some Biblical numeric meanings, and the redemptive story of Jesus. In an urgent call to the Bride of Christ, she clearly lays out the entangled spiritual warfare we are currently experiencing.

The names of Ishtar (Vashti’s mom), Haman, and Jezebel are principalities of darkness that Christie suggests are prevalent and working in our current time. In our schools, our government, what we watch, and what we listen to. She even links the Barbie movie to the principality of Ishtar (I’ll let you read that for yourself). Christy presents her research in a relaxed, and unassuming manner, leaving room for the reader to come to their own convictions.

A fascinating read. One that causes me to view the life of Esther differently. Understanding the true sacrifice it was for her to become queen, and what being chosen for a such a time as this actually meant in her life.
